My Personal Story: Why Clean Candles Matter to Me
I didn’t set out to create a luxury candle brand. I started CandleLux for love and necessity.
During COVID, my wife Tammi, who has severe scent and chemical sensitivities tied to autoimmune issues, couldn’t be around most store-bought candles. Even “nice” brands would trigger headaches, dizziness, or flare-ups. I realized I didn’t want anything in our home that could harm her.
It was personal for me, too.
As a kid, I thought I was allergic to candles. My eyes would water. My nose would run. I didn’t know why. Turns out it was the paraffin wax (a petroleum derivative), the synthetic fragrances, and other additives being burned into the air I was breathing.
